Some extremely tiny eggs crossed my path and though I knew the chances were small, I put them in the incubator.

Big Egg Cracked In My Hands - Just as I was about to drill it
Переглядів 4,9 млн2 місяці тому
Join me in the hatching of these stunning emerald emu eggs. At a petting zoo's female Emu had 3 eggs but their male Emu didn't start incubating on the nest (yes, with Emu's, the male does the incubating and the raising of the chicks). So they reached out to me and asked if I wanted to give these eggs a chance. By now they were quite old so I wasn't sure if they would hatch. All music through au...
Recording the very first heartbeat of a new life
Переглядів 132 тис.5 місяців тому
If I recorded every second inside an egg, from yolk till hatching, would it be possible to film the very first heartbeat? During this project I learned that a heartbeat starts even before the heart organ is present and earlier than the naked eye can see, but I ended up shooting the most intriguing footage of the full embryo development inside a little dove egg. Incubating and Releasing two Secret Buckets of Wild Birds | Saving more eggs than ever before
Переглядів 418 тис.7 місяців тому
Unexpectedly I had to find the space for more eggs to incubate from the wild than I'd ever had. It were new species and some birds that I had raised before. I had to do research and learned so much again. After months of dedicated work, I found the perfect spot for my friends to be released into nature: an Island bird reserve. All audio through audionetwork. Become part of the family To back an...
No Idea What Was About To Hatch | Wild Egg Rescue from birth to release

A rare bunch of wild eggs belonged to a bird species I had never raised before. I decided to film her growth every day - on a neutral background so as to see her development in detail. This was an amazing journey from the wild egg rescue up until her release into the wild again. 04:55 Day to Day Growth Timelapse *Kind reminder: Never, ever take eggs from a birds nest. Doing so would be a violat...
How To Make a Duckling Follow You | Busting Myths

Follow a few simple rules and you can become a mother duck :) Not every bird will just follow you around, not even after they hatched in your hands, there's a bit more to it... In this video I explain you why. First a duckling from an egg in my incubator. Second a duckling that was brought to me because her eyes were infected and third a tiny one that was the lone surviver after a heron had eat...
Raising 3 Baby Squirrels That Got Kicked Out By Hand
Переглядів 2 млн10 місяців тому
The fairytale like story of saving these three little squirrels came with many ups and downs for me. Raising squirrel babies is exhausting, I was feeding them every three hours day and night for weeks and weeks and I thought that was as tough as it would get. Little did I know… Important warning: 1. Never give cow milk to any animal…never. It is bad for them and it might even be fatal. 2. Befor...
The Smallest Parrot you've ever seen - Tiny egg hatching #2
Переглядів 10 млнРік тому
A little egg survived and became a sweet friend. The mother had an egg binding problem. Fortunately I knew my way around budgies by now .,. When the time's right, when she's a flight expert, this little parakeet will return to the owner of her mother. For those of you interested, here's how to help a bird (such as a budgie, or a hen for example) with egg bound (a stuck egg): "A warm bath follow...
27 Rats Attacked my Birds and I TRAPPED all of them Alive
Переглядів 3,9 млнРік тому
This actually worked. By studying nasty rats that were attacking my animals I could catch them by hand and finally came up with a trap that was working. I caught all 27 of them. Luckily my animals are save again. By the way... wild rats are NOTHING like pet rats. - about the squirrels... the one that had escaped is a new one... not so tame yet. And yes I believe squirrels should live in nature....

The Tiniest Bird You've Ever Seen - Zebra Finch Hatching
Переглядів 26 млнРік тому
This is the smallest bird I've ever hatched. After a little Finch had lost her partner, I was asked if she could stay in my big Aviary. When I returned home after picking her up, on the way back she had laid an egg in the little transport box! Birds only do this when they have an egg that needs to be laid. I knew there was only a small chance she would accept and hatch this egg in an actual nes...

What happens when a duck can’t see
Переглядів 1,3 млнРік тому
A sweet duckling landed on my doorstep... obviously something was wrong. He wasn't growing like his siblings. The man who brought him to me (by now a friend) had called me and asked for my help. The least I could do is give this little bird a chance. So, he had trouble eating and he wasn't taking care of his feathers and getting way too wet. All music in this video is licensed through Audionetw...

I have so many questions! Firstly thank you so much for the content you share...and for being an awesome human being. You make me happy to be part of the human race. Secondly, do quail not need warm incubation? Did you have to go through a few packs of quail eggs to find a winner? Was the egg ready to hatch nearly right away? We incubated chicks on my parents hobby farm growing up, and we were told we couldn't touch the newly hatching chicks or help them- which felt so wrong- so cool to see that it doesn't have to be that way! Also, it's awesome to see the connection and bond that you grow with your chicks through whistling and touch.

I am so glad I found this…I love this and love the work you are doing. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I love animals and probably would be doing what you are doing if things ended up differently in life, but life let me down another path. I’ve rescued many animals throughout my life along the way with birds, cats, dogs and even tried rescuing a horse once but before I was able to get to it, it was already dead from internal injuries….it was hit by a vehicle going too fast on a dirt road. I’ve had various types of birds, even one that thought is was human, because it was only a baby when I rescued it, and never ventured outside even if it heard their calls. Instead, It stayed with me on my shoulder while walking around throughout the house….followed me everywhere. I think it thought I was its mother. Afterwards, someone poisoned it with chemicals while I was at work. It broke my heart, still miss him. 😢😥

Okay, so I had no idea what the contents of the eggs were gonna be. At first I thought large, flightless bird, or snake. Then the whistling gave my deductible reasoning a boost to eliminate snakes. It wasn't until I seen that middle raptor-like toe that I thought, I repeat THOUGHT Emu's, and it took this comment of yours to finally confirm. To think, these little flightless future felons are gonna be within a couple inches of my height and the females could be withing 15 to 20 pounds of my weight, and they say there's no more dinosaurs roaming the earth! I'm 5'7", 150 pounds, I also am a martial artist, however, my kicks weren't designed to disembowel my adversary the way these beautiful birds are!
